My current research into mycology has led to a deep interest in the potential for mycelium to act as both a metaphorical and functional source of connectivity, translation and remediation. These images of mycelium sculptures are the beginning of a body of new work that explores the potential of mycelium to become a sustainable, living sculptural material. Allowing innoculated grain spawn to colonize a wood shaving substrate, the mycelial scultpures grew over a period of three months. The black and white images of spore prints from wild mushrooms were captured over a 48 hour period.
